Police investigating suspicious death in central Edmonton

City police are investigating a suspicious death Saturday evening in central Edmonton on.

Shortly after 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon in the area of 104 Avenue and 95 Street.

When police arrived, they located a man with serious injuries.

Officers provided first aid to the man, but he died at the scene, police said.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed an assault around 6 p.m. to contact police.

If confirmed as a homicide, it would be Edmonton's 27th of 2021.
