City centre should entice families

I think it is all fine and dandy that there will be no tree this year, but consider holding events in Churchill Square.

Churchill Square was created for Edmonton's events. It was torn up and replaced with what is now a paved space to make it easier to hold events. It is known as the centre of the city next to City Hall, a landmark citizens hold as a symbol of the city.

It is bad enough that the centre of the city right now sits dead and its silence is so evident that people do not want to come downtown.

To bring the centre back to life, City of Edmonton events should be held at Churchill Square.

To attract families and make it affordable for people to come downtown, clean up the garbage, and make it easy by providing free/cheap parking. Nobody wants to take their kids to step over puddles of urine at the LRT stations to come downtown for a happy event, then step over urine again as they go home to mark the end of that happy event.
