FUNERAL CLOSED TO PUBLIC,

ANNA JUNKER

A regimental funeral for fallen Edmonton police constables Travis Jordan and Brett Ryan will be closed to the public.

The funeral will take place next Monday at Rogers Place at 1 p.m. Access to the building will be limited to family, special guests, Edmonton police members and supporters within law enforcement, emergency services and military communities.

However, the public is invited to pay their respects along a procession route and attend a live stream at Ice District Plaza.

The funeral procession will depart from the Alberta legislature at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Monday.

Details on the route will be shared in the coming days and road closures will be in effect.

The live stream will take place at 1 p.m. at Ice District Plaza and no backpacks, briefcases, or other large items will be permitted.

Road closures will also be in effect with limited parking in the area. The city of Edmonton may make additional viewing areas available with details to be shared once they are finalized.

A live stream will also be available on the Edmonton Police Service's YouTube channel.

Edmonton police said the service is working with families to finalize details of the funeral and further information will be provided in the coming days.
