Tattoo artist faces multiple sexual assault charges

A Cold Lake tattoo artist is facing charges after an RCMP investigation into allegations he had sexually assaulted several clients over a number of years.

According to a news release, Cold Lake RCMP started an investigation on May 20 after receiving allegations that a local tattoo artist has sexually assaulted numerous clients while tattooing them between 2015 and this year.

Dale Amos, 66, a resident of Cold Lake, was arrested on May 24, said Mounties, adding he is facing multiple charges including, six counts of sexual assault with a weapon, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of assault with a weapon.

After a judicial release hearing, Amos was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Alberta court of justice in Cold Lake on June 14.
